Preview Roundups
December 22, 2019
Anaheim at NY Rangers 12:30 PM ET
The Anaheim Ducks will try to finish their four-game trip through Metropolitan Division rinks with a split when they visit the New York Rangers on Sunday afternoon, following an inspiring performance 24 hours earlier. The Ducks received a goal in regulation and the shootout winner from Jakob Silfverberg for a 6-5 victory over the New York Islanders on Saturday without captain Ryan Getzlaf (flu-like symptoms).
Calgary at Dallas 7:00 PM ET
The Dallas Stars were fortunate to leave the state of Florida with two out of four possible points and look to go into the Christmas break with a sharper effort when they host the Calgary Flames on Sunday night. The Stars rallied for a 4-3 overtime win at Tampa Bay on Thursday despite getting outshot 48-20 before giving up seven goals in the first 31:25 en route to a 7-4 setback 24 hours later at Florida.
Arizona at Detroit 7:00 PM ET
The Arizona Coyotes begin life without No. 1 goaltender Darcy Kuemper when they visit the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday. Kuemper is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury he sustained during an 8-5 loss to Minnesota on Thursday, so Antti Raanta - a more than capable back-up - will carry the load for first-place Arizona.
Vegas at San Jose 10:00 PM ET
The Vegas Golden Knights will look to maintain their share of the Pacific Division lead Sunday when they travel to San Jose to face the Sharks, who have managed one win in nine December games. Vegas was two goals down less than halfway through the first period Thursday against Vancouver, but Mark Stone's  goal with less than five minutes remaining in regulation helped the Golden Knights force overtime before they fell to the Canucks 5-4.
