Preview Roundups
October 27, 2019
Florida at Edmonton 4:00 PM ET
The blueprint for facing the Edmonton Oilers has not changed much from last season - bottle up the team's lethal No. 1 line and the opposition's chances rise dramatically. That has been a near-impossible task at Rogers Place, where the Pacific Division-leading Oilers look to improve to a perfect 6-0-0 against the Florida Panthers on Sunday afternoon.
St. Louis at Detroit 5:00 PM ET
The Detroit Red Wings have struggled at both ends of the ice during their seven-game losing streak. They hope to rectify their problems when they continue a three-game homestand Sunday against the St. Louis Blues.
Los Angeles at Chicago 7:00 PM ET
The Chicago Blackhawks are not meeting their expectations in the early going, especially on the offensive end, and look to snap their four-game losing streak when they host the similarly struggling Los Angeles Kings on Sunday. Chicago earned at least one point in three of its first five games this season before dropping the last four (0-3-1) and scoring just twice in the past three after Saturday’s 4-0 setback at Carolina.
San Jose at Ottawa 7:00 PM ET
Only one team has played more games away from home than the San Jose Sharks, who visit the league-worst Ottawa Senators on Sunday night in the fourth stop of a five-game road trip. It will mark the NHL high-tying eighth road game for San Jose, which has lost four of its last five trips to Ottawa, including defenseman Erik Karlsson's return to Canadian Tire Centre last December.
Philadelphia at NY Islanders 7:00 PM ET
The New York Islanders attempt to extend their winning streak to seven games when they begin a stretch in which they play six of seven at home Sunday against the Philadelphia Flyers. New York, which won't leave the state during that span as its road contest is in Buffalo, has yielded fewer than three goals in each game of the run.
Boston at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers found the blueprint for success last time out after suffering through a five-game losing streak and look to build off that performance when they host the red-hot Boston Bruins on Sunday. The Rangers went 0-4-1 while recording a total of nine goals before scoring three times in the first period en route to a 6-2 victory on Thursday over a Buffalo team that had earned points in nine of its first 10 games of the season.
Anaheim at Vegas 8:00 PM ET
The Anaheim Ducks take their rediscovered offense into Sunday's game against the host Vegas Golden Knights. Anaheim recorded one goal in consecutive losses to Calgary and at Nashville and Dallas before erupting for a 5-2 victory at Colorado on Saturday with Adam Henrique and Jakob Silfverberg each scoring their team-leading sixth goal.
