Preview Roundups
October 23, 2019
Detroit at Ottawa 7:30 PM ET
Expectations were at a bare minimum for the Ottawa Senators following a roster overhaul that began a year ago and the team has met those expectations -winning once in eight games and owning an NHL-worst three points. The Senators hope a return to Canadian Tire Centre will end their tailspin when they open a three-game homestand versus the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night.
Pittsburgh at Tampa Bay 8:00 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Lightning have shown the form that led to an NHL record-tying 62 victories last season only sporadically in the first eight games of 2019-20 but look to begin changing that trend when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday. The Lightning went 3-2-1 on a six-game road trip that ended with two wins but gave up three unanswered goals in Saturday's 6-2 home loss to Colorado.
