Preview Roundups
March 09, 2020
Washington at Buffalo 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Capitals applied the brakes on a 4-7-2 skid by stepping on the gas in their victory over a bitter rival. The Capitals look to pick up speed on Monday when they conclude a three-game road trip against the Buffalo Sabres, who have been stuck in neutral since the NHL trade deadline.
Arizona at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
The Winnipeg Jets and Arizona Coyotes sit on the outside of the congested wild-card picture in the Western Conference, however the clubs can aid their cause at the other's expense on Monday when they meet in Manitoba. The Jets have collected a point in 10 of their last 15 games (9-5-1) to hold a two-point edge over the Coyotes.
Florida at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
The Florida Panthers pumped some life into their playoff quest with three big points in the last two games and look to take that momentum on the road when they visit the reigning Stanley Cup champion St. Louis Blues on Monday night. The Panthers lost 2-1 in overtime against NHL-best Boston on Thursday and scored three times in the third period to pull away from Montreal 4-1 on Saturday.
Vegas at Edmonton 9:00 PM ET
First place in the Pacific Division is on the line Monday when the Vegas Golden Knights visit the Edmonton Oilers, who have a hot goaltender on their hands. Mikko Koskinen doesn't garner headlines like Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl do, but stopping 97-of-99 shots in his last three games will get a goaltender noticed.
Colorado at Los Angeles 10:30 PM ET
Two of the NHL’s hottest teams will hit the ice Monday when the Colorado Avalanche finish a three-game road trip against the Los Angeles Kings. The Avalanche are 8-1-1 in their last 10 after a 4-3 victory Sunday over the San Jose Sharks while the Kings sit at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, but have secured a season-high five wins in a row.
