The Golden Knights look to turn around their fortunes on Tuesday when they visit the Buffalo Sabres.

The Toronto Maple Leafs made a spirited run to close the gap on first-place Boston in the Atlantic Division, running off a 10-game point streak (9-0-1). but things have taken an abrupt turn over the past week. Toronto is mired in a three-game slide and dealing with a major injury entering Tuesday night's game against the visiting New Jersey Devils.

The Tampa Bay Lightning saw their 10-game winning streak extinguished last time out and look to begin a new run when they entertain the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night before heading back on the road. The Lightning scored 43 goals and allowed 17 during their franchise record-tying streak before their offense sputtered Sunday night in a 3-1 loss at New Jersey.
Detroit at NY Islanders 7:00 PM ET
The New York Islanders look to rebound from a disappointing performance when they return home to the Nassau Coliseum on Tuesday night and take on the NHL-worst Detroit Red Wings. The Islanders had gained at least a point in three straight games (2-0-1) before giving up five consecutive goals in a 6-2 loss at the New York Rangers on Monday, and hope to improve on a 4-1-0 record in the second of back-to-backs this season.

The Sidney Crosby watch has been on high alert even though the Pittsburgh Penguins have held up superbly in the absence of their superstar captain. After completing a sweep of a three-game road trip on Sunday, the big question in the Steel City is whether Crosby will be in the lineup when the Penguins host the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night.

The Atlantic Division-leading Boston Bruins will try to bounce back from a bizarre shootout loss when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday. Boston's Brad Marchand was trying to extend the shootout to a sixth round but overskated the puck at the center red dot and when he barely made contact to move it about one inch, the game was over and the Bruins had to settle for earning a point for the 13th time in their last 14 games (7-1-6).

The Chicago Blackhawks begin a three-game trip through Ontario and Quebec on Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators as they continue the long road toward postseason relevance. Chicago is tied for last in the Central Division, seven points out of playoff position and must pass five teams to get there, but coach Jeremy Colliton isn't ready to wave the white flag.
Vancouver at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
The Winnipeg Jets are searching for answers behind their struggles on home ice as they prepare to host the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday, after losing their sixth consecutive game at Bell MTS Place on Sunday against Nashville. That 1-0 defeat dropped the Jets to 10-10-2 in their own building, one season after going 25-12-4 there, and Winnipeg is 0-5-1 while being outscored 28-13 during the current losing streak at home.

The Dallas Stars won six straight games to ascend into second place in the Central Division before dropping a one-goal decision in their last contest. The Stars aim to rebound from their recent misstep and bid for a four-game sweep of the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday when they conclude their four-game road trip in Denver.

The Nashville Predators' calling card long has been a stingy defense that often suffocates the opposition, and the team appears to have embraced that style of play over the last two contests. The Predators bid for their first three-game winning streak since late October when they complete a three-game road trip against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday.

Battling for the top spot in the Pacific Division, the Arizona Coyotes have sandwiched a pair of three-game slides around a four-game winning streak. The Coyotes are seeking to avoid a season-worst fourth consecutive defeat when they square off with the visiting San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night in their third meeting since Nov. 30.
