Preview Roundups
January 17, 2018
Tulsa at Temple 6:00 PM ET

It’s been a frustrating American Athletic Conference start for Temple, which is 1-5 with three of its last four losses coming by a combined total of eight points. The Owls will now try for only their second win since Christmas when they host Tulsa on Wednesday night.

Villanova at Georgetown 6:30 PM ET
In its last game, Villanova earned the praise of the opposing coach, but not its own. Wildcats coach Jay Wright hopes his No. 1-ranked team can put together a more complete effort Wednesday against host Georgetown.
Iowa at Rutgers 7:00 PM ET
Iowa and Rutgers enter their game Wednesday night tied for 10th place in the Big Ten Conference just a game ahead of winless Illinois. But the visiting Hawkeyes enter the game with some positive momentum after rallying from a 20-point deficit to pull out a 104-97 overtime victory over the Fighting Illini on Thursday night.
Arkansas at Florida 7:00 PM ET
Florida was on a roll heading into Saturday's matchup with Mississippi, winning six straight, including four SEC matchups, to surge to the top of the conference. Injuries and a poor defensive performance cost the Gators the conference lead, however, as they fell to Ole Miss 78-72 and they now look to rebound on Wednesday against an Arkansas team seeking its first conference road victory after tying the school record for SEC road wins in a season last year with six.
Auburn at Alabama 7:00 PM ET

The last remaining undefeated team in the SEC standings will try to stay that way when No. 20 Auburn travels to face rival Alabama on Wednesday. The Tigers are looking for their first 5-0 start in SEC play since the 1998-99 season.

South Florida at East Carolina 7:00 PM ET
East Carolina goes after a sweep of the regular-season series when it hosts South Florida on Wednesday night in a battle between two of the bottom teams in the American Athletic Conference. The Pirates rallied from a six-point halftime deficit for a 67-65 victory at USF on Jan. 3, but have not been able to build on that effort while suffering three consecutive losses.
Southern Methodist at Wichita St. 7:00 PM ET

Wichita State has made itself at home in its new conference, the American Athletic, winning its first five games by an average of 20.8 points to establish itself as the team to beat. Defending conference champion SMU will try to slow the fourth-ranked Shockers when they visit on Wednesday night.

Houston at Tulane 8:00 PM ET
Houston tries to keep pace with the leaders in the American Athletic Conference standings when it travels to Tulane Wednesday. The Cougars have won five of six, including four of their first five league contests to sit behind nationally-ranked Wichita State and Cincinnati in the AAC, while the Green Wave are looking to snap a two-game losing streak and get to .500 in conference play.
Texas Tech at Texas 8:00 PM ET
No. 8 Texas Tech and host Texas have a lot of similarities as they prepare to meet Wednesday in Big 12 action. Both teams feature tough defenses and both have been shaken by injuries to key players.
Seton Hall at Creighton 8:30 PM ET
Getting its offense back on track should be the first order of business for Creighton if it hopes to come away from Wednesday's Big East home game against No. 19 Seton Hall with a victory. The Bluejays put forth one of their worst offensive performances of the season in Saturday's loss to No. 12 Xavier, but will have a chance to avenge an earlier loss at the hands of the Pirates.
St. John's at Xavier 8:30 PM ET
No. 12 Xavier knew it didn't put forth its best effort in a lopsided loss to powerhouse Villanova - and it subsequently took its frustrations out on Creighton in its very next game. The Musketeers will look to continue building momentum ahead of its rematch with the Wildcats as they host St. John's on Wednesday night.
Ohio St. at Northwestern 9:00 PM ET
No. 22 Ohio State looks to stay unbeaten in Big Ten play when it hits the road to face struggling Northwestern on Wednesday. The Buckeyes, who have won six straight games, routed Rutgers 68-46 on Sunday to move into the Top 25 and can improve to 7-0 in conference play for the first time since 2010-11 by avenging a 74-72 loss to the Wildcats last season.
Tennessee at Missouri 9:00 PM ET

First-year Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin faces his former school when the Tigers host No. 21 Tennessee for a key SEC matchup Wednesday. It’s the first time Martin has faced the Volunteers since leaving for California following the 2013-14 season – his third at Tennessee.

Arizona at California 9:00 PM ET
Arizona will try to avoid looking ahead to this weekend when the No. 17 Wildcats visit California in a Pac-12 game on Wednesday. Arizona entered the week tied for the conference lead with unranked Stanford, which hosts the Wildcats on Saturday afternoon.
Iowa State at Texas Christian 9:00 PM ET

It appeared that Big 12 foes were ready for Lindell Wigginton after the talented freshman scored a total of 13 points on 4-of-21 shooting in consecutive losses to Texas and Oklahoma State to start the new year, but the 6-2 Iowa State guard regrouped last week, tallying a combined 57 points in a road loss to Kansas and a home victory against Baylor - its first in conference. The Cyclones look to ride the current Big 12 Newcomer of the Week when they visit No. 25 TCU on Wednesday.

Arizona State at Stanford 11:00 PM ET
Two teams trending in opposite directions meet Wednesday as 14th-ranked Arizona State visits a surging Stanford team that has won four in a row, including a road sweep of the Washington schools last week. The Cardinal look to take another step forward against Arizona State, which opened with 12 straight wins but narrowly avoided falling to 1-4 start in the Pac-12 with Saturday’s 77-75 win over Oregon State.
