Preview Roundups
April 10, 2019
Indiana at Atlanta 8:00 PM ET
The Indiana Pacers know their postseason fate and where they will be heading for Game 1 of the first round this weekend, but they'd like to be playing better when they get there. The Pacers will try to avoid a third straight loss and build a little momentum when they close out the regular season by visiting the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday.
Miami at Brooklyn 8:00 PM ET
The Miami Heat finally snapped their losing streak and picked up a victory on Tuesday, but it turned out to be a case of too little, too late. The Heat will celebrate Dwyane Wade's final NBA game when they visit the Brooklyn Nets for the season finale on Wednesday.
Orlando at Charlotte 8:00 PM ET
The red-hot Charlotte Hornets need some help and a victory over the visiting Orlando Magic in the regular-season finale Wednesday night to punch their ticket to the playoffs for the first time in three years. The Hornets have won four straight and eight of 11 after a 124-97 rout at Cleveland on Tuesday, but eighth-place Detroit rallied to beat Memphis and remained one game up on Charlotte for the last spot in the Eastern Conference.
Detroit at New York 8:00 PM ET
A furious fourth-quarter rally may have saved the Detroit Pistons' playoff chances, and they'll look to finally nail down a spot on the final day of the regular season when they visit the New York Knicks on Wednesday. The Pistons had dropped four in a row to sink to the eighth spot in the East and they trailed the struggling Memphis Grizzlies by 15 points entering the fourth quarter Tuesday night before racing to a 100-93 win.
Chicago at Philadelphia 8:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia 76ers are locked into third place in the Eastern Conference when the playoffs begin this weekend and the biggest goal is avoiding injury when they complete the regular season at home against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. The 76ers, who will play either Orlando or Brooklyn in the first round, have dropped four of the last five games while periodically sitting out several of their top players that are nursing ailments or need rest.
Golden State at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors hope to have dodged a bullet with an injury to superstar guard Stephen Curry and figure to showcase a limited lineup in the regular-season finale Wednesday against the host Memphis Grizzlies. Curry departed Tuesday's 112-103 win at New Orleans with a mild foot sprain, although the team said that he left for precautionary reasons and reports indicate that the two-time Most Valuable Player will be ready for the first game of the playoffs.
Oklahoma City at Milwaukee 8:00 PM ET
The Oklahoma City Thunder look to finish the regular season with their fifth consecutive win when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. Oklahoma City will clinch the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference with a victory as it sits one game ahead of the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers.
Dallas at San Antonio 8:00 PM ET
Dirk Nowitzki gave his fans a finale for the ages and the Dallas Mavericks superstar has one more chance to suit up when his team visits the San Antonio Spurs for the last game of the regular season Wednesday. Nowitzki scored a season-high 30 points to lead the Mavericks to a 120-109 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday before being honored in a postgame event featuring appearances by Hall of Famers Larry Bird, Charles Barkley and Scottie Pippen, as well as a long-awaited announcement.
Minnesota at Denver 10:30 PM ET
The Denver Nuggets can clinch the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference playoffs when they try for a four-game season sweep of the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday in their regular-season finale. Denver (53-28) appeared to have squandered an opportunity to nail down the two seed by losing its last two games, including 118-108 at Utah on Tuesday, but got some improbable help from Oklahoma City.
Utah at L.A. Clippers 10:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Clippers have lost three straight games at a bad time and look to halt the slide when they host the Utah Jazz on Wednesday. The Jazz are soaring with 13 victories in their past 15 games after recording a 118-108 home win over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.
Sacramento at Portland 10:30 PM ET
The Portland Trail Blazers have wrapped up homecourt advantage for the first round of the playoffs and look to win for the 14th time in 17 games when they host the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. Portland pulled out a 104-101 road victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday when forward Maurice Harkless drained a corner 3-pointer as time expired to clinch a top-four seed.
