Preview Roundups
January 19, 2018
San Antonio at Toronto 7:00 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs are once again staring at life without Kawhi Leonard for the foreseeable future, but they're not having a problem winning. The Spurs will try to make it back-to-back victories since learning of Leonard's latest setback when they visit the Toronto Raptors in the finale of a three-game road trip on Friday.
Miami at Brooklyn 7:30 PM ET
The Miami Heat suffered one of their most lopsided defeats of the season at home against the Brooklyn Nets a few days after Christmas. One night later, the Heat began an impressive rise up the Eastern Conference standings and on Friday night in Brooklyn they seek a measure of revenge against the Nets.
Washington at Detroit 8:00 PM ET
The Detroit Pistons are on another downslope in what has been a rollercoaster first half, and they will try to snap a three-game slide when they host the Washington Wizards on Friday. The Pistons own four different winning streaks of at least three games this season but also have a seven-game slide on the resume.
Sacramento at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
The Memphis Grizzlies strung together consecutive wins for the first time in nearly three months and seek their first three-game run since they opened 3-0 when they host the Sacramento Kings on Friday. The Grizzlies knocked off the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks to begin their three-game homestand, and they've won five of their last seven at home after a 1-11 stretch at FedExForum earlier in the season.
Phoenix at Denver 9:00 PM ET
The Denver Nuggets dropped five of their last seven games and fell out of the top eight in the Western Conference with a 109-104 setback at the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday. The Nuggets are a much stronger team at home and will try to string some wins together when they open a five-game homestand by hosting the Phoenix Suns on Friday.
New York at Utah 10:30 PM ET
Rookie Donovan Mitchell will try to stay hot and lead the Utah Jazz to consecutive wins for the first time in over a month when they host the New York Knicks on Friday. After going 14-for-19 in a 34-point performance in Wednesday's 120-105 win at Sacramento, Mitchell is averaging over 25 points over an eight-game stretch.
Indiana at L.A. Lakers 10:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Lakers haven't won a game this season when rookie point guard Lonzo Ball has been sidelined. Ball will miss Friday's game against the visiting Indiana Pacers because of an injured left knee and the Lakers will try to post a victory for the first time in nine games without the No. 2 overall pick in the lineup.
