Preview Roundups
January 12, 2018
Utah at Charlotte 7:00 PM ET
The Utah Jazz won their first road game in nearly a month at Washington on Wednesday while dipping deep into the rotation. The Jazz will try to make it back-to-back triumphs for the first time since bridging November and December with a six-game streak when they visit the Charlotte Hornets on Friday.
Cleveland at Indiana 7:00 PM ET
The Indiana Pacers have played well against the Cleveland Cavaliers this campaign and look to improve to 3-0 in the season series when they host the next meeting on Friday. Indiana, which rolled to a 124-107 victory in Cleveland on Nov. 1 and posted a 106-102 home win on Dec. 8, now faces a struggling team that has dropped its last two games by an average of 31 points.
Orlando at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Wizards have struggled at times to put away seemingly inferior teams, a scenario that popped up again with a sloppy loss to the reeling Utah Jazz at home. The Wizards will try to bounce back and earn their first win of a five-game homestand when they host the Orlando Magic on Friday.
Brooklyn at Atlanta 7:30 PM ET
After snapping a long road losing streak, the Atlanta Hawks set their sights on an extended run at home, beginning with a matchup against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday. A 110-97 victory at Denver in the finale of a five-game road trip ended the Hawks' 10-game slide away from home and they will now play six straight and nine of 10 at Philips Arena.
Golden State at Milwaukee 8:00 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors did not approach their game against the Los Angeles Clippers with the appropriate spirit, according to coach Steve Kerr, leading to a rare loss. The Warriors will try to get some of their star players back on the court and improve that spirit when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday.
New York at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Timberwolves have been dominant on their current homestand, while the New York Knicks have struggled all season to win away from home. The Timberwolves will try to keep their trend alive and the Knicks will attempt to end theirs when the teams meet Friday night in Minneapolis.
Portland at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
The New Orleans Pelicans and the Portland Trail Blazers both have plans to make the playoffs in the Western Conference this spring, but neither team seems to be generating any consistent forward momentum. Both teams will be trying to bounce back from tough losses when the Pelicans host the Trail Blazers on Friday.
Memphis at Denver 9:00 PM ET
A loss at the defending champion Golden State Warriors doesn't look terrible, but falling to the NBA-worst Atlanta Hawks at home might be a low point for the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets will try to pick themselves up and avoid a second straight loss to a team at the bottom of the standings when they host the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.
Houston at Phoenix 10:30 PM ET
Chris Paul is asserting himself more with James Harden sidelined with a hamstring injury, and the Houston Rockets have been the beneficiaries. Paul will try to keep his hot streak going when the Rockets put a two-game winning streak on the line at the Phoenix Suns on Friday.
