Toronto at NY Yankees 7:05 PM ET
The New York Yankees look to set a major-league record by belting a homer in a 28th consecutive game on Tuesday, when they continue their three-game series against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays. Aaron Hicks' three-run shot in the fifth inning of Monday's 10-8 victory allowed the Yankees to match the 2002 Texas Rangers for the longest such streak in MLB history.
NY Mets at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
The Philadelphia Phillies mustered all of 15 runs during their season-high seven-game losing streak before igniting their dormant offense against the visiting New York Mets. After belting four homers among their season-best 19 hits in the opener, the Phillies aim to put a winning streak together when they continue their four-game series on Tuesday.
San Diego at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
Manny Machado has been given a mixed reception at most of the venues he has visited this season, but he's expecting the next one to be a bit friendlier. The four-time All-Star returns to Baltimore for the first time since he was traded last season on Tuesday when the San Diego Padres open a two-game set against the Orioles.
Chi. White Sox at Boston 7:10 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox hope to build off a comeback victory when they send veteran left-hander David Price to the mound on Tuesday night for the second of a three-game set against the visiting Chicago White Sox. The Red Sox, who lost a home series against struggling Toronto over the weekend, scored once in each of the last three innings to erase a two-run deficit and earn a 6-5 walk-off victory Monday that evened their record at Fenway Park (19-19).
Texas at Detroit 7:10 PM ET
The Texas Rangers are putting some unexpected pressure on the first-place Houston Astros in the American League West. The Rangers will try to keep the heat on when they begin a six-game road trip Tuesday with the first of three contests at the Detroit Tigers.
Kansas City at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
Jason Kipnis and Jose Ramirez are starting to warm up offensively in the middle of the lineup and the two mainstays look to stay hot when the surging Cleveland Indians host the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night. Ramirez is 7-for-13 in his last four games to raise his batting average to .217 after notching two hits Monday and Kipnis was 3-for-5 with a walk-off solo homer as the Indians took the opener of a three-game series 3-2 in 10 innings.
Washington at Miami 7:10 PM ET
Sometime over the weekend, the honor of being the National League East's hottest team was passed from the Washington Nationals to the Miami Marlins. Led by the red-hot Max Scherzer, the Nationals hope to return to their winning ways Tuesday when they begin a three-game set in Miami against the surging Marlins.
Atlanta at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET
Willson Contreras is on pace to surpass his previous career high for home runs, and he also doesn't mind getting under the skin of opponents. Contreras hopes for another productive performance when the Chicago Cubs host the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday for the second contest of their four-game series.
Pittsburgh at Houston 8:10 PM ET
The Astros were loaded with stars before Yordan Alvarez burst onto the scene and he's already made history as Houston kicks off a six-game homestand with three against the Pittsburgh Pirates beginning Tuesday. Alvarez, a 6-5, 225-pound Cuban, belted 23 home runs in 213 at-bats with Triple-A Round Rock this season before becoming the first major leaguer to record at least seven homers and 16 RBIs in his first 12 games.
Seattle at Milwaukee 8:10 PM ET
The Milwaukee Brewers went through a rough stretch with losses in seven of eight but began to turn things around with a pair of wins over the weekend. The Brewers will try to carry that momentum into the next series when they host the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday in the opener of a three-game interleague set.
Tampa Bay at Minnesota 8:10 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins had Monday off in advance of their three-game series with the visiting Tampa Bay Rays that starts Tuesday, but it wasn't a reward for leading the American League Central by a wide margin. “I think it’s good for us to be at home and not come to the ball field,” Twins manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters after his club fell to 3-5 in its last eight games with Sunday's loss at Kansas City. “Physically and mentally, I think our guys deserve it.”
Oakland at St. Louis 8:15 PM ET
A pair of third-place teams looking to keep the pressure on their respective division leaders meet Tuesday in St. Louis, where the hometown Cardinals take on the Oakland Athletics in the opener of a two-game interleague series. St. Louis lost Sunday night to the Los Angeles Angels but won nine of its previous 13 and has reduced its deficit in the National League Central to two games entering Monday.
LA Dodgers at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
A brief injury setback isn't preventing Ketel Marte from swinging a hot bat. Marte will strive to record his eighth straight multi-hit performance when the Arizona Diamondbacks host the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday for the middle contest of their three-game series.
Colorado at San Francisco 9:45 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies got off to a great start on their nine-game road trip before stalling, but they got back on the right track in the opener of their series against the San Francisco Giants. Colorado looks to continue going in the right direction when they visit San Francisco on Tuesday for the middle contest of their three-game set.
Cincinnati at LA Angels 10:07 PM ET
The Cincinnati Reds were climbing toward .500 before hitting a bit of a snag over the weekend. The Reds will try to jump back into the win column and continue the surge toward a winning record when they visit the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday in the opener of a two-game interleague series.
