June 19, 2019
Houston at Cincinnati 12:35 PM ET
The Houston Astros will try to avoid being swept for the first time in 2019 when they finish a three-game set against the host Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday. The Reds have taken a pair of one-run games to begin the interleague series, riding three home runs to a 4-3 triumph in Tuesday's matchup.
Tampa Bay at NY Yankees 1:05 PM ET
Reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell will try to help the Tampa Bay Rays salvage the finale of a key three-game series when they visit the New York Yankees on Wednesday afternoon. The Rays managed just two hits in losing the series opener and held a one-run lead through 4 1/2 innings before suffering a 6-3 setback on Tuesday, falling for the sixth time in eight games overall.
Philadelphia at Washington 1:05 PM ET
Mother Nature has done the Washington Nationals no favors over the last two days, but a rare break in the inclement weather on Tuesday unfortunately provided the opportunity for ace pitcher Max Scherzer to sustain a broken nose during a bunting drill. The Nationals aim to rebound from that setback as they attempt to salvage part of their series against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies with a doubleheader on Wednesday.
Baltimore at Oakland 3:37 PM ET
The Oakland Athletics began their 10-game homestand by losing two of three to Seattle, but they can complete a three-game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles when they host the American League cellar dwellers for the finale of the set on Wednesday afternoon. Oakland recorded a one-run triumph in the series opener before cruising to a 16-2 win on Tuesday.
Milwaukee at San Diego 3:40 PM ET
The Milwaukee Brewers’ potent offense has taken an unexpected summer break over the past two games in sunny San Diego, scoring a total of one run in back-to-back losses. Milwaukee looks to avoid a series sweep Wednesday against the Padres, who have won three in row after losing six of their previous seven contests.
Kansas City at Seattle 6:40 PM ET
Whit Merrifield hopes to build off a career performance when the Kansas City Royals attempt to complete a three-game sweep of the host Seattle Mariners on Wednesday afternoon. Merrifield went 3-for-4 in Tuesday's 9-0 triumph, matching a personal best with two homers and establishing one with six RBIs.
Philadelphia at Washington 7:05 PM ET
Mother Nature has done the Washington Nationals no favors over the last two days, but a rare break in the inclement weather on Tuesday unfortunately provided the opportunity for ace pitcher Max Scherzer to sustain a broken nose during a bunting drill. The Nationals aim to rebound from that setback as they attempt to salvage part of their series against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies with a doubleheader on Wednesday.
Detroit at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
Exactly one month ago, the Pittsburgh Pirates were coming off a successful road trip and sitting three games out of first place in the National League Central. Things have since taken a downward spiral for the Pirates, who staggered through their latest road trip and have lost 20 of 28 entering the finale of a two-game set versus the visiting Detroit Tigers on Wednesday night.
LA Angels at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels have used the long ball to dominate the season series with the Toronto Blue Jays, and they'll try to keep it a one-sided matchup when the teams continue a four-game series in Canada on Wednesday. Kole Calhoun and Brian Goodwin both went deep in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jays after the Angels smacked four home runs in a 10-5 victory in the series opener.
NY Mets at Atlanta 7:20 PM ET
Maybe the New York Mets should consider having a players-only meeting prior to Wednesday’s road series finale at the Atlanta Braves, because they played one of their best games in weeks after meeting behind closed doors Tuesday afternoon. First baseman Pete Alonso doubled twice and homered en route to a four-hit, three-RBI performance and Jacob deGrom stopped the bleeding with 10 strikeouts in a 10-2 victory, just the fifth win for the Mets in their past 17 road contests.
Cleveland at Texas 8:05 PM ET
Rookie Oscar Mercado has made quite an impression in just over a month in the major leagues, and the 24-year-old outfielder looks to continue his hot streak when the Cleveland Indians visit the Texas Rangers on Wednesday. Mercado has recorded 33 hits and scored 25 runs in his first 28 games in the big leagues after going 2-for-5 while crossing the plate three times in Tuesday’s 10-3 rout that even the series at one win apiece.
Chi. White Sox at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET
Eloy Jimenez haunted his former organization in the series opener with a game-winning, two-run homer, and he looks to help the Chicago White Sox finish a two-game sweep of the host Chicago Cubs on Wednesday. Jimenez, one of four prospects obtained when the White Sox traded Jose Quintana to the Cubs in July 2017, hit his blast in the top of the ninth to give the White Sox a 3-1 win.
Boston at Minnesota 8:10 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins remain the only team in the majors without three consecutive losses, a streak they kept intact by prevailing in a 17-inning marathon against the Boston Red Sox. The American League Central-leading Twins will try to avoid their first series loss at home in more than two months when they host Boston in Wednesday night's rubber match of the three-game set.
Miami at St. Louis 8:15 PM ET
The Miami Marlins answered being shut out for the 13th time this season by blanking the St. Louis Cardinals for the second time in 2019 to even their four-game series at one win apiece. The Marlins look to ride the momentum of just their third victory in 12 contests into Wednesday's game at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
Colorado at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies were part of the highest-scoring four-game series in modern history over the weekend and show no signs of slowing down. Leadoff hitter Charlie Blackmon has been setting the tone for the Rockies, who continue their three-game series against the host Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
San Francisco at LA Dodgers 10:10 PM ET
The Los Angeles Dodgers will seek a second straight high-scoring output when they host the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday for the third contest of their four-game series. The Dodgers erupted for a 9-0 win on Tuesday after scoring three runs or fewer in eight of their previous 11 contests.
