Pittsburgh at Atlanta 12:10 PM ET
Austin Riley struggled after a brilliant start to his major-league career, riding a 2-for-22 streak with nine strikeouts, but the Atlanta Braves rookie left fielder broke out at the right time Wednesday. The Braves enter Thursday's home series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates aiming for a four-game sweep after Riley went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, belting a game-tying homer in the ninth and scoring the game-winning run on Ozzie Albies' walkoff double in the 11th inning of an 8-7 victory.
Seattle at Minnesota 1:10 PM ET
Daniel Vogelbach is finding Minnesota pitching to his liking and will look for another productive outing on Thursday when the Seattle Mariners close a three-game set against the host Twins. Vogelbach recorded his first career four-hit game, one being a homer, in Seattle's 9-6, 10-inning win on Wednesday and is 9-for-20 with three homers and seven RBIs against Minnesota this season.
Arizona at Washington 7:05 PM ET
The Washington Nationals' season appeared to be spiraling out of control late last month, with the club residing perilously close to the cellar of the National League East. The Nationals' fortunes soon changed, however, as they won 12 of their last 17 heading into the opener of a four-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Toronto at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays finally snapped out of a wretched offensive funk to halt a five-game losing streak overall and a string of seven straight setbacks away from home. The Blue Jays will vie for their first road series win since a three-game sweep in Oakland from April 19-21 when they play the rubber match of a three-game set at the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday night.
Texas at Boston 7:10 PM ET
David Price has come up big in some pressure-packed spots this season and will look to help the Boston Red Sox salvage a series split against the visiting Texas Rangers on Thursday night in the finale of a four-game set. Price and Boston will be up against one of the hottest pitchers in the game in right-hander Adrian Sampson, who has won five consecutive starts.
LA Angels at Tampa Bay 7:10 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels swept a pair of games from the top team in the National League to start the week and hope to keep moving in a positive direction when they open an 11-game road trip against the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday night. The Angels knocked off the Dodgers by identical 5-3 scores at home to finish a 4-4 homestand, leaving them as one of seven teams in realistic contention for an American League wild card spot.
St. Louis at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
The New York Mets are riding the wave of positive momentum following one of their best offensive performances of the season, but those hot bats often go cold when Jacob deGrom takes the mound. The reigning National League Cy Young Award recipient hopes that trend quickly goes out of style on Thursday as the Mets open a four-game series against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals.
Detroit at Kansas City 8:05 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals boast several College World Series veterans, and those players will return to Omaha on Thursday when Major League Baseball is played in Nebraska for the first time. The Tigers and Royals started their three-game series in Kansas City, Mo., but conclude the set at TD Ameritrade Park with Detroit right-hander Matthew Boyd, who takes the ball Thursday, recalling his stellar performance in the 2013 CWS.
NY Yankees at Chi. White Sox 8:10 PM ET
The New York Yankees still hold a half-game lead atop the American League East over the Tampa Bay Rays, but are not playing their best baseball of late. The Yankees will try to get right on the road when they visit the Chicago White Sox on Thursday in the opener of a four-game series.
San Diego at Colorado 8:40 PM ET
The status of Colorado star Nolan Arenado will be determined Thursday, sometime before the Rockies open a four-game home series against the San Diego Padres. Arenado was plunked on his left foreman by Cole Hamels of the Chicago Cubs during Wednesday's 10-1 loss and later departed with a painful bruise.
Chi. Cubs at LA Dodgers 10:10 PM ET
The Los Angeles Dodgers have sputtered while losing four of their last six games and could be without a key player when they open a 11-game homestand Thursday night against the Chicago Cubs. The National League-best Dodgers were swept by the Los Angeles Angels in a two-game interleague series to start the week and shortstop Corey Seager suffered a hamstring injury Tuesday that could force him to miss some time.
