Brink, Joel Farabee and Owen Tippett each scored one goal in regulation for the Flyers.

Morgan Frost contributed two assists.

Flyers goaltender Sam Ersson received the start since Carter Hart was out with an illness. Ersson made 27 saves.

Dylan Strome and Tom Wilson each had one goal and one assist for the Capitals.

Connor McMichael also scored and Aliaksei Protas had two assists.

T.J. Oshie was only one of three players to score for Washington in the shootout.

Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren stopped 29 shots.

Ersson made a nifty save at 4:56 of the third period on a redirected shot in front by Alex Ovechkin.

The Flyers soon tied the score at 2-2 at 5:25 when Farabee scored his 11th goal of the season.

Washington regained a 3-2 advantage at 9:05 when Strome received a pass off a broken stick and scored.

Tippett tied the score 3-3 at 17:01 with a wrist shot through traffic in front.

Neither team was able to win in overtime. Lindgren denied Cam Atkinson on a breakaway at 2:08.

It was a rather uneventful first period despite the Capitals having two power plays and the Flyers having one.

Aside from a few big hits, the Capitals led 7-3 in shots on goal. Neither team had a real solid scoring chance.

The Flyers went ahead 1-0 at 2:14 of the second when Brink corralled a loose puck and scored on the backhand. Brink's goal ended his nine-game drought.

The Capitals tied the score 46 seconds later when McMichael was all alone in front and connected.

Tippet nearly scored at 11:10 on the power play but his point-blank shot was turned away by Lindgren.

Washington then had a great scoring opportunity at 11:57 when Nicolas Aube-Kubel broke free yet was stopped by Ersson.

The Capitals kept attacking and took a 2-1 lead when Wilson scored on the power play at 15:29.

The Flyers had a two-man advantage for the final 38.9 seconds of the period but were unable to capitalize.
