Mark Scheifele scored with 1:07 remaining in overtime and Connor Hellebuyck made 38 saves as the Winnipeg Jets rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to defeat the host Edmonton Oilers 3-2 on Saturday night.

Scheifele, stationed in front of the crease, redirected Josh Morrissey's pass from the left circle past Oiler goaltender Stuart Skinner's glove side for the game-winner and his fourth goal of the season.

Vladislav Namestnikov and Morrissey also scored goals for Winnipeg, which snapped a two-game losing streak.

Darnell Nurse and Evan Bouchard scored goals and Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl each had two assists for Edmonton, which played the final 4:20 of regulation and the entire overtime with McDavid on the bench. McDavid, the reigning NHL MVP and scoring leader, didn't play again after grabbing his left side following a faceoff with Scheifele.

Skinner finished with 24 saves.

Edmonton jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 85 seconds into the contest when Nurse snapped a wrist shot from the high slot into the top-right corner of the net for his first goal of the season.

Bouchard made it 2-0 at the 6:11 mark with a power-play goal, one-timing a shot from above the circles past Hellebuyck's blocker side. It was also Bouchard's first goal this season.

Morrissey cut it to 2-1 midway through the period with a power-play goal (his first), slapping a shot from above the left circle past a screen and into the top-right corner of the net.

The Jets tied it at 2-2 late in the second period on a short-handed goal by Namestnikov. Alex Iafallo set up the score when he raced down the left wing and knocked a loose puck away from Skinner out of his net near the left faceoff dot. Iafallo scooped up the puck and circled behind the goal before passing it into the crease where Namestnikov deflected it into the net for his first goal of the season.
