Brandon Saad scored twice Saturday to help lift the St. Louis Blues past the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2.

Jake Neighbours and Colton Parayko also scored, and Kasperi Kapanen and Robert Thomas each had two assists for the Blues, who have points in three of their four games.

St. Louis goaltender Jordan Binnington made 31 saves.

Evgeni Malkin and Radim Zohorna scored for the Penguins, who have lost two straight.

Pittsburgh goaltender Tristan Jarry, who had been 5-0-0 against the Blues, made 17 saves.

Saad, a Pittsburgh native, gave St. Louis its first lead of the season after 199 minutes, 33 seconds when he made it 1-0 at 9:33 of the first.

He got to a loose puck when it ricocheted off Pittsburgh defenseman Ryan Graves and slammed it past Jarry's outstretched stick.

Malkin was given a tripping penalty late in the first. The Blues applied heavy pressure and the Penguins were unable to get the puck out of their end -- until just as the power play expired.

Pittsburgh defenseman Kris Letang then made a desperate swipe at the puck in the right circle as Malkin was stepping out of the penalty box. Malkin got the puck at the red line for a breakaway and snapped the puck over Binnington's blocker to tie it with 4.5 seconds left in the first, giving him eight points in five games.

Neighbours restored the Blues' lead at 5:39 of the second. Off a three-on-two, Kapanen deked and weaved his way down the right side of his offensive zone. From near the bottom of the circle, he got a pass through behind Jarry for Neighbours, who had an easy tap-in from the far side of the crease.

At 7:12 of the second, Parayko scored on a heavy slapshot from the center point with Jarry screened to give St. Louis a 3-1 lead.

Saad made it 4-1 at 15:13 of the third when he beat Jarry short side from the left dot.

Zohorna, in his season debut, tapped the puck in from the right post at 16:27 of the third to close it to 4-2.
