Brady Tkachuk scored twice, including the winner 2:09 into overtime, as the Ottawa Senators dented the host Edmonton Oilers' playoff hopes with a 4-3 victory Saturday afternoon.

Bobby Ryan and Brian Gibbons also scored for the Senators, who never trailed. Goaltender Craig Anderson made 26 saves to snap a 14-game winless streak (0-13-1).

Alex Chiasson, Connor McDavid and Colby Cave scored for the Oilers, who dropped to 2-4-0 in their past six games. Goalie Mikko Koskinen stopped 31 of 35 shots. The Oilers entered the game six points out of the second and final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

In overtime, Tkachuk gained the puck and skated the length of the ice on a two-on-one break with Rudolfs Balcers. He kept the puck and fired a wrist shot from the left faceoff that Koskinen was unable to trap between his left arm and body, the puck squeezing through and rolling just over the goal line.

Tkachuk opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 4:37 of the first period. His backhander from behind the net deflected off the skate of Adam Larsson and then off Koskinen before going in.

Chiasson tied it at 8:12 of the first, beating Anderson with a backhander.

The Senators regained the lead on Ryan's power-play goal at 15:28 of the first, redirecting a pass from Thomas Chabot past Koskinen.

McDavid scored at 2:54 of the second to tie at 2-2, finishing off a give-and-go with Leon Draisaitl on a two-on-one break.

That gave McDavid 108 points this season (38 goals, 70 assists), tying his career high set a year ago.

Gibbons put the Senators in front again at 7:37 of the third, tapping a pass from Magnus Paajarvi past Koskinen on a two-on-one break.

The Oilers rallied again, tying it less than a minute later. Cave collected the puck in the left faceoff circle, spun and beat Anderson with a wrist shot.
