Matt Duchene scored a power-play goal 3:01 into overtime, and the host Nashville Predators beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-4 on Tuesday night.

Duchene and Luke Kunin finished with two goals each, Tanner Jeannot also scored and Roman Josi had three assists for Nashville. Juuse Saros stopped 40 shots to help the Predators win their fifth straight.

Cale Makar tallied a goal and two assists, Nicolas Aube-Kubel added a goal and an assist and Andre Burakovsky and Nathan MacKinnon also scored goals for the Avalanche.

Nazem Kadri and Sam Girard had two assists each and Darcy Kuemper made 27 saves for Colorado, which had its five-game winning streak snapped.

Nashville's Filip Forsberg missed his second straight game as he remained in health and safety protocols. The Predators played nearly half the game without defenseman Mark Borowiecki, who went down after blocking a shot midway through the second period.

The Avalanche were without captain Gabriel Landeskog, who missed his second straight game after testing positive for COVID-19 on Monday.

With Colorado short-handed in overtime, Duchene scored off Josi's rebound for his 16th goal of the season.

The Predators jumped out to a quick lead when Jeannot scored just 2:26 into the game. Kunin's first goal, at 19:04, made it 2-0 after one period.

Aube-Kubel made it 2-1 at 8:15 of the second. It was his fifth score of the season and third in the last two games.

The Avalanche tied it a few minutes later. Borowiecki blocked Burakovsky's initial shot and immediately went down. Burakovsky got the puck back, worked around the prone Borowiecki and beat Saros to make it 2-2 at 11:48. It was his 13th goal of the season.

Kunin gave Nashville the lead again at 17:25, with his seventh tally of the season.

The Avalanche answered on the power play early in the third period when MacKinnon's one-timer beat Saros at 5:21. It was his sixth goal of the season.

Duchene's power-play goal at 10 minutes of the third period put the Predators ahead 4-3, but Makar tied it again with his 16th goal at 13:19.
