Patric Hornqvist scored two goals and Brandon Montour dished three assists as the host Florida Panthers defeated the Calgary Flames 6-2 on Tuesday night in Sunrise, Fla.

The Panthers, who have the NHL's best home record at 18-3-0, trailed 2-1 before scoring five straight goals.

Besides Hornqvist, Florida got goals from Anthony Duclair, Joe Thornton, Ryan Lomberg and Lucas Carlsson.

Sergei Bobrovsky made a season-high 47 saves for the Panthers, improving his record this season to 14-3-2.

Calgary, which entered the game as the NHL's best defensive team (2.03 goals-against average), got 39 saves from former Panthers netminder Jacob Markstrom, who is 2-4-1 in his career against Florida.

The Flames got goals from Johnny Gaudreau and Blake Coleman. Gaudreau leads the Flames this season with 37 points.

Matthew Tkachuk added an assist for Calgary. He has seven points in his past four games.

A wild first period featured five goals. After a hooking penalty on Noah Hanifin, Hornqvist scooped up a loose puck and opened the scoring on the power play with 5:58 gone in the period.

Gaudreau tied the score less than two minutes later, splitting two defenders for a breakaway goal. Coleman then surprised Bobrovsky by skating behind his net and sneaking the puck in on the short side, giving Calgary a 2-1 lead.

But at the 13:01 mark in the first period, Duclair deflected in Gustav Forsling's shot to tie the score.

The Panthers then took a 3-2 lead on Thornton's deflection of a Montour shot with 69 seconds left in the period.

Lomberg, skating against his former team, scored the only goal of the second, and it came with just 17 seconds left in the period. Lomberg scored five-hole from the right circle, taking a perfect pass from Eetu Luostarinen.

The Panthers cruised from there as Hornqvist and Carlsson scored in the third period.
