Calle Jarnkrok scored in the fifth round of the shootout to lift the visiting Nashville Predators to a 4-3 victory over the Dallas Stars on Sunday.

Ryan Johansen, who scored a first-period goal, sent a backhand shot under the crossbar in the second round of the shootout. Dallas' Joe Pavelski answered in the third round before Jarnkrok ended the contest by beating Anton Khudobin (19 saves) inside the left post.

Eeli Tolvanen collected a goal and two assists and Filip Forsberg added his team-leading 11th tally for the Predators, who have won three of their last four contests. Pekka Rinne made 27 saves to record the win.

Rhett Gardner scored his first career NHL goal and Ty Dellandrea and Radek Faksa also tallied for the Stars, who have dropped five of their last seven games (2-2-3). Dallas fell to 1-5 in shootouts this season.

The Stars led 3-1 after a deft double deflection at 13:02 of the second period. Defenseman John Klingberg's shot from the point caromed off the sticks of both Pavelski in the high slot and Dellandrea in front of the net before beating Rinne. The goal was the second in as many games for Dellandrea.

Just under five minutes later, Forsberg trimmed the deficit after the puck caromed off his skate and into the net. Officials reviewed the goal and allowed it to stand after deeming that he didn't use a distinct kicking motion.

Tolvanen's wrist shot from the top of right circle handcuffed Khudobin to forge a tie with 5:45 remaining in the third period.

Gardner cleaned up a rebound following defenseman Esa Lindell's shot to open the scoring at 9:02 of the first period, before Faksa doubled the advantage just 79 seconds later. Faksa tipped Jason Robertson's wrist shot from the high slot past Rinne for his fourth goal of the season and second against Nashville.

Johansen redirected defenseman Mattias Ekholm's blast from the blue line to halve the deficit 30 seconds later. All three of Johansen's goals this season have come in March.
