Curtis Glencross scored a pair of goals and Miikka Kiprusoff made 29 saves as the Calgary Flames held off the visiting Detroit Red Wings 3-2 on Thursday.

Blake Comeau added his second goal and Olli Jokinen recorded his 18th assist for the Flames, who have won back-to-back games following a four-game slide.

Glencross tipped in Jokinen’s shot on the power play in the first period, and Calgary made it 2-0 early in the second when Comeau completed a 2-on-1 rush by tapping it into an open net.

Glencross’ second tally came on another odd-man rush at the 5:47 mark of the second, when he wristed a shot from the right faceoff circle off the far post for a 3-0 lead.

Glencross now has five goals in his last five games and 13 on the season.

Ty Conklin, getting a rare start in place of Jimmy Howard for Detroit, made 24 saves but fell to 1-4-0.

Jiri Hudler got the Red Wings on the board at 4:55 of the third before Ian White drew them within a goal with 4:12 left. Pavel Datsyuk won a faceoff and sent the puck back to White, who blasted a knuckling one-timer that got past Kiprusoff on his right side.
