Jared Goff threw for 309 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Los Angeles Rams to a 30-10 victory against the Washington Football Team on Sunday at Landover, Md.

Wide receiver Cooper Kupp had five receptions for 66 yards for the Rams (4-1), while tight end Gerald Everett caught four passes for 90 yards and wide receiver Robert Woods added four receptions for 71 yards and a score. Running back Darrell Henderson Jr. added rushing and receiving touchdowns for Los Angeles.

Defensive tackle Aaron Donald had four sacks and linebacker Troy Reeder had three to lead the Los Angeles defense.

Josh Allen replaced second-year quarterback Dwayne Haskins as the starter for Washington (1-4), but Allen was sidelined after taking a hit to the head late in the first half by Jalen Ramsey. He was replaced by Alex Smith, who was making his first NFL appearance since a gruesome leg injury on Nov. 18, 2018 that required 17 separate surgeries to fix.

Smith completed 9 of 17 passes for 37 yards and was sacked six times.

Allen was 9 of 13 for 74 yards before departing.

Washington finished with just 108 total yards of offense, which is the third lowest total for any NFL game since 1970 according to Pro Football Reference.

Goff completed his first 10 passes, including seven for 68 yards on the opening drive of the game, which was capped by a 1-yard touchdown run by Darrell Henderson Jr.

The Rams missed the point-after attempt, allowing Washington to briefly take a 7-6 lead on a 7-yard run by Allen with 1:34 left in the first quarter.

Los Angeles quickly regained a 13-7 lead on a 56-yard touchdown pass from Goff to Woods on the first play of the second quarter.

Goff scored on a 2-yard run to boost the lead to 20-7 with 7:32 left in the first half.

Smith replaced Allen following a sideline hit by Ramsey with two minutes left in the first half. The helmet-to-helmet contact drew drawing a 15-yard penalty on Ramsey for lowering his head to initiate contact.

Goff was intercepted with 49 seconds left in the half and Washington capitalized with a 48-yard field goal by Dustin Hopkins as time expired to make it 20-10 at the break.

Allen was reportedly cleared to return for the second half, but Smith remained in the game.

Rams rookie Samuel Sloman kicked a 37-yard field goal midway through the third quarter, and Henderson caught an 11-yard touchdown pass with 6:37 left to make it 30-10.
