Matt Schaub threw for three touchdown passes and 497 yards and Neil Rackers kicked a 35-yard field goal with 3:24 remaining in overtime as the Houston Texans rallied for a 30-27 victory over the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

Rackers' successful kick came three minutes after Washington first-year kicker Graham Gano pushed a career-high 52-yard attempt wide right. Gano actually made the initial kick, but Houston coach Gary Kubiak called a timeout prior to the play.

Schaub completed 38 of 52 passes with touchdown strikes to four-time Pro Bowl wideout Andre Johnson, Kevin Walter and Jacoby Jones. For his part, Johnson reeled in 12 catches for 158 yards.

With the victory, the Texans secured their second 2-0 start in team history. Houston also won its first two games in 2007, but limped to an 8-8 finish.

Arian Foster, who rushed for a franchise-record 231 yards and three scores in last Sunday's victory over the Indianapolis Colts, carried 19 times for 69 yards.

Donovan McNabb completed 28 of 38 passes for 426 yards with a touchdown strike to tight end Chris Cooley in a losing effort for the Redskins (1-1).

The effort was a far cry from last Sunday's performance against the Dallas Cowboys, when McNabb completed just 15 of 32 passes for 171 yards.

Washington's disgruntled defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was ruled inactive prior to the game with a sprained ankle.
