LD Brown rushed for 103 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown run that started a 20-point second quarter explosion, to lead No. 15 Oklahoma State to a 27-13 Big 12 Conference win Saturday over West Virginia at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Okla.

Chuba Hubbard added 101 yards on 22 attempts, including a game-sealing 23-yard scoring jaunt with 1:17 left. It capped a 15-play, 80-yard march that lasted 7:39.

Freshman quarterback Shane Illingworth, making his first start for the Cowboys (2-0, 1-0 Big 12), completed 15 of 21 passes for 139 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. Oklahoma State outrushed the Mountaineers 203-67 and converted 7 of 14 third downs.

Jarret Doege hit on 20 of 37 throws for 285 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions for West Virginia (1-1, 0-1). Leddie Brown added 103 yards on 26 carries.

But the Mountaineers couldn't cash in two red-zone chances in the second half, settling instead for 26- and 30-yard field goals by Evan Staley.

After a scoreless first quarter, Brown got Oklahoma State on the board just 1:17 into the second quarter with his long touchdown run. He burst through a gaping hole up the middle and sped up the field untouched into the end zone.

The Cowboys' defense got into the act when Tyren Irby recovered a Doege fumble after a Trace Ford sack and zipped 56 yards for a 14-0 lead at the 11:07 mark. Alex Hale tacked on a 40-yard field goal with 5:02 left in the half for a 17-0 advantage.

West Virginia got on the board just over a minute later. Doege beat a blitz and found Winston Wright with a short pass over the middle. Wright did the rest, turning it into a 70-yard touchdown that sliced the lead to 17-7.

But Oklahoma State added on to its cushion just before halftime as Hale connected from 44 yards out, making it 20-7. A 15-yard face mask penalty, one of many Mountaineer mistakes, helped maneuver the Cowboys into position.
