D'Eriq King passed for 267 yards and two touchdowns in just three quarters as the 12th-ranked Miami Hurricanes routed the visiting Florida State Seminoles 52-10 on Saturday night.

It was the most points scored by either team in the 65-year history of this rivalry.

King completed 29-of-40 passes as Miami accumulated 517 total yards.

Cam'Ron Harris and Donald Chaney added two rushing touchdowns each for the Hurricanes, who had former stars from the NFL (Ray Lewis) and MLB (Alex Rodriguez) rooting for them, side by side, among the pandemic-limited crowd at Hard Rock Stadium.

Miami (3-0) has beaten FSU (0-2) four straight years. On Saturday, the Hurricanes scored on all six of their first-half possessions, including five touchdowns.

Dating to last week against Louisville, that was 11 straight scores for Miami's offense, except for a kneel-down at the end of the Louisville win. That streak was finally snapped in the third quarter when freshman running back Jaylan Knighton fumbled.

One of the few other negatives for Miami also occurred in the third quarter, when safety Gurvan Hall was ejected for targeting. He will miss the first half of Miami's next game, at top-ranked Clemson.

FSU, which was without coach Mike Norvell after he tested positive for COVID-19, was led by quarterback James Blackman, who passed for 120 yards and one touchdown. Blackman completed 16-of-26 passes and was intercepted once as he lost to Miami for the fourth straight year.

Miami led 14-3 after the first quarter and had a 149-69 advantage in total yards.

King passed 24 yards over a linebacker to tight end Brevin Jordan for the opening touchdown, capping a 13-play, 75-yard march.

FSU drove 68 yards but settled for Ryan Fitzgerald's 26-yard field goal after Blackman's pass on third-and-goal from the 2 fell incomplete.

Miami capped the quarter's scoring by marching 79 yards on 15 plays. On fourth-and-1 from FSU's eight, Harris got the first down on a direct snap. On the next play, Harris dove into the end zone for a 3-yard score.

The Hurricanes stretched their lead to 38-3 at halftime.

Miami made it 21-3 on Harris' 12-yard run up the middle.

An FSU trick play - an end-around pass by Jordan Travis - resulted in an athletic interception by 260-pound defensive end Jaelan Phillips. Three plays later, Miami was in the end zone on a 40-yard pass to Dee Wiggins.

Miami closed out the half with Chaney's brutish 2-yard run up the middle and Jose Borregales' 30-yard field goal at the buzzer.

FSU never got closer than 28 points in the second half.
