Jarret Doege threw two touchdown passes to T.J. Simmons and West Virginia kept TCU out of the end zone to improve to 5-0 at home with Saturday's 24-6 win in Big 12 play at Morgantown, W.Va.

Leddie Brown ran for 156 yards on 24 carries and the Mountaineers' defense allowed just 295 total yards as the hosts improved to 5-3 overall -- 4-3 in the Big 12. Doege finished 19 of 26 for 212 yards and Simmons had four catches for 90.

Aiming for a third straight win, TCU (3-4, 3-4) struggled to get any kind of offensive rhythm going. The Horned Frogs, who dropped to 2-1 on the road, had totaled 67 points in their previous two games.

West Virginia got on the board first with an impressive opening drive. Despite starting pinned up against their own goal line, the Mountaineers marched 99 yards on 15 plays and capped the effort with Doege's 1-yard dive. The drive took just 7:33 off the clock.

TCU, though, took advantage of some new life after West Virginia was whistled for a roughing-the-kicker call on a fourth-down punt. That ultimately resulted in Griffin Kell's 32-yard field goal early in the second quarter.

However, West Virginia benefited from a TCU pass interference penalty on a third-and-17 situation during its next drive. One play later, Doege hooked up with Simmons for a 26-yard touchdown pass with 11:32 left in the first half.

The Mountaineers' opening drive of the second half was nearly as strong as their first of the game. This time, Casey Legg capped a 12-play drive with a 42-yard field goal to make it 17-3.

TCU got down to the West Virginia 6-yard line on its first drive of the second half, but settled for Kell's 32-yard field goal. The Horned Frogs, though, shot themselves in the foot when Trevon Moehrig muffed a punt early in the fourth quarter that West Virginia recovered.

Two plays later, Doege connected with Simmons on a pretty 38-yard touchdown pass down the far sideline.

TCU's Max Duggan was 16 of 29 for 161 yards with an interception and held to 19 yards rushing after recording 154 on the ground against Texas Tech last weekend.
