Skylar Thompson's 3-yard touchdown run capped a 95-yard drive to help Kansas State win its first Big 12 game under first-year head coach Chris Klieman, 24-17 over TCU in Manhattan, Kan.

The drive chewed up 5:18 of the fourth quarter beginning at the 8:03 mark.

Thompson had a 61-yard run early in the drive and converted a fourth-and-1 at the TCU 20 with a 2-yard run, before running untouched into the end zone to give the Wildcats the lead with 2:45 left in the fourth quarter.

Kansas State (4-2, 1-2 Big 12) came into the game averaging 218 yards per game on the ground, but the Wildcats rushed for just 40 yards against the Horned Frogs in the first three quarters before Thompson took over.

Thompson completed 11 of 23 passes for 172 yards and two scores, also running for a team-high 68 yards.

Quarterback Max Duggan was the leading rusher for TCU (3-3, 1-2), gaining 115 yards on 13 carries. He was 16 of 29 for 132 passing yards.

Kansas State created a scoring opportunity early in the first quarter with a blocked punt and recovery by Jonathan Alexander, who set up the Wildcats at the TCU 20. Two plays later, Thompson hit Nick Lenners with a 21-yard touchdown pass right over the middle.

TCU got on the board on a 10-play, 76-yard drive, with all 10 plays on the ground. Duggan and Sewo Olonilua combined for eight of the rushes, including Olonilua's 8-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter.

Thompson then found Wykeen Gill for a 13-yard touchdown pass to cap a nine-play, 74-yard drive and give the Wildcats a 14-7 lead. Jonathan Song's 36-yard field goal cut the lead to 14-10 at the half.

A Blake Lynch 21-yard field capped the opening drive of the second half as Kansas State extended the lead to 17-10.

TCU answered with a 75-yard drive that was all Duggan. He scrambled for 24 yards on third-and-10 deep in his own end, then ran through several tackles on a 46-yard scamper for the tying touchdown.
