Salvon Ahmed rushed for 153 yards, including an 89-yard touchdown run, as No. 17 Washington earned its first Pacific-12 Conference victory of the season, defeating No. 21 USC 28-14 on Saturday afternoon in Seattle.

Jacob Eason completed 16 of 26 passes for 180 yards for the Huskies (4-1 overall, 1-1 Pac-12), who scored 15 points off USC turnovers.

Matt Fink was 19-for-32 passing for 163 yards, with one touchdown and three interceptions for the Trojans (3-2, 2-1). Teammate Stephen Carr rushed for 94 yards.

Two of Fink's three interceptions were thrown inside the Washington 1-yard line.

With Washington leading 20-7 midway through the third quarter, the Trojans drove into the red zone but Fink was intercepted at the goal line by cornerback Elijah Molden. Two plays later, Ahmed scored on his 89-yarder. A two-point conversion pass to Chico McClatcher gave Washington a 28-7 advantage.

The Huskies' Cameron Williams picked off Fink at the 1-yard line with 2:20 remaining to end USC's last drive.

The Huskies took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.

Richard Newton opened the scoring on a 1-yard run with 3:38 left in the quarter, capping a five-play, 35-yard drive.

The Huskies scored again with 29 seconds left in the first. Ahmed, who missed last week's game at BYU with a lower leg injury, got the carry from the 5-yard line and made it down to the 1 before being hit. The ball popped loose and wide receiver Andre Baccellia fell on it in the end zone for a touchdown.

USC cut the margin to 14-7 in the second quarter when Fink, who opened the season as the third-string QB but moved up with injuries to J.T. Daniels and Kedon Slovis, scored on a 3-yard run with 4:14 left.

The Huskies drove deep into USC territory and Peyton Henry kicked a 28-yard field goal as time expired for a 17-7 lead at the half.

Henry added a 35-yarder on Washington's first drive of the second half to make it 20-7.

Fink hit Michael Pittman with a 44-yard scoring strike late in the third to make it 28-14.
