Jake Moody kicked a 43-yard field goal in the second overtime period and No. 7 Michigan survived a huge scare to edge Army 24-21 in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Saturday.

Army quarterback Kelvin Hopkins Jr. fumbled while being sacked and Michigan's Joshua Uche recovered on the last play of the game, ending the Black Knights' 10-game winning streak. Army (1-1) has not defeated a Top 10 team since 1963.

Army freshman kicker Cole Talley missed a 50-yard field goal on the last play of regulation.

Hopkins gave the Black Knights a 21-14 lead in the first overtime with a 6-yard scoring run. Michigan freshman running back Zach Charbonnet scored on a 3-yard run to force a second OT.

Charbonnet rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Shea Patterson connected on 19 of 29 passes for 207 yards.

Hopkins scored two rushing touchdowns and finished with 41 yards on 18 carries. Connor Slomka rushed for 92 yards on 29 carries.

The Wolverines (2-0) committed three first-half turnovers and trailed 14-7 at halftime.

Army struck first after a Michigan turnover with a 10-play, 60-yard drive in the opening quarter. It was finished off by a Sandon McCoy 1-yard plunge. Kell Walker's 31-yard run was the big play on the drive.

The Wolverines went to their bag of tricks to even the score. On a fake punt, Michael Barrett hit Daxton Hill for a 25-yard completion to advance the ball to Army's 33-yard line. Patterson then hit Nick

Eubanks with a 24-yard pass. Charbonnet completed the 70-yard drive with a 2-yard run.

The Black Knights capitalized on a Wolverines' fumble in the second quarter to regain the lead. They methodically drove 40 yards in 11 plays, culminating with a Hopkins plunge from the 1 into the end zone.

Michigan kicker Quinn Nordin missed a 55-yard field goal attempt on the last play of the half.

Army drove to the Wolverines 5-yard-line early in the second half, but Hopkins was picked off by Lavert Hill on third down.

The Wolverines then drove 78 yards in 12 plays to tie the score at 14. Charbonnet scored on a 1-yard run.
