Texas A&M's defense forced UAB to shift its offensive approach on Saturday night at Kyle Field, but the visiting Blazers made the adjustment well.

The bad news, though, is that UAB struggled to cash in when opportunities arose. That, combined with an inability to slow down the Aggies' offense, a trio of turnovers and struggles in the kicking game, proved too much for UAB as Texas A&M rolled to a 41-20 victory.

The Blazers (9-2) fell behind nine seconds into the game when Larry Pryor scooped up Andre Wilson's fumble on the opening kickoff and raced 17 yards for a touchdown.

The Blazers managed to forge a 7-7 tie on Tyler Johnston's 9-yard scoring pass to Wilson to finish a 10-play, 75-yard drive on the ensuing possession. Johnston completed 4 of 7 passes on the opening series, a harbinger a night when he passed for 306 yards by hitting 25 of 39 throws.

UAB came into the night averaging 238 rushing yards a game, but never got untracked and wound up with only 111 yards on the ground.

The Aggies (7-4) weren't overly dynamic on offense, but converted two of the three Blazers turnovers into points. A&M also finished drives better, including a pair of Trayveon Williams touchdown runs and a Seth Small field goal in the first half.

Any chance UAB had of keeping pace faded away once kicker Nick Vogel's nightmarish night unfolded.

Three Blazers drives that consumed 36 snaps and ate up 153 yards yielded no points when Vogel missed from 43, 44 and 47 yards. The last misfire came on the first possession of the third quarter when an 11-play, 45-yard march came up empty.

After that, the Aggies rolled 70 yards in seven plays and upped their lead to 34-7 when Jace Sternberger hauled in a 25-yard pass from Kellen Mond in the end zone.

Wilson and Sternberger tacked on touchdown catches for their teams in the fourth quarter.

With Johnson throwing effectively for 193 yards in the first half, UAB registered 217 yards in the initial 30 minutes and was 7 for 11 on third down.
