Mike Miles Jr. scored 23 points, seven of them in a decisive late-game surge, as No. 18 TCU rallied for a gritty 67-61 win over visiting Texas Tech on Saturday in Lubbock, Texas, in the Big 12 Conference opener for both teams.

Texas Tech (10-3, 0-1 Big 12) led by 11 points at halftime before the Horned Frogs turned on their defense to get back in the game.

TCU (12-1, 1-0) used a 9-0 run to tie the score at 53-53 and took its first lead since the opening minutes when Miles hit a layup with 3:37 to play. Miles then added a three-point play to push the Horned Frogs' lead to 62-58 and another jumper with 1:42 remaining to expand the advantage to six points.

The Red Raiders answered with a 3-pointer by Pop Isaacs at the 1:24 mark. Isaacs missed another 3-pointer with 28.4 seconds to play after which TCU's JaKobe Coles hit a free throw and Emanuel Miller ended the game with a dunk to finish off the win.

Miller added 16 points for TCU, with Damion Baugh scoring 14 as the Horned Frogs won their 10th straight game.

Isaacs led the Red Raiders with 17 points while De'Vion Harmon added 13. Texas Tech committed a season-high 23 turnovers, 15 of them in the second half.

The Horned Frogs scored the game's initial five points before Texas Tech rallied to tie the game at 6-6 at the 16:52 mark of the first half. The Red Raiders kept the momentum and forged a 32-22 lead after Jaylon Tyson's layup with 5:08 to play in the half.

Tech pushed its lead to 13 points when Harmon canned a jumper with 1:15 remaining in the half. TCU closed the half with free throws by Miles and Rondel Walker to pull to within 37-26 at the break.

Harmon led all scorers with 10 points before Miles had eight points in the half and Miller hit for seven.

The Horned Frogs charged back into the game by scoring the first 10 points of the second half to claw back to 37-36.
