Jules Bernard had 16 points and nine rebounds to help No. 7 UCLA to a 66-43 win against Stanford in a Pac-12 game on Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Jake Kyman contributed 15 points off the bench, and Tyger Campbell had 10 points and nine assists for the Bruins (16-2, 8-1 Pac-12), who moved back into sole possession of first place in the conference.

Isa Silva scored eight points off the bench to lead Stanford (12-7, 5-4), which shot 27.1 percent from the field two nights after upsetting No. 15 USC, 64-61.

UCLA was without leading scorer Johnny Juzang (18.1) for a second straight game after he tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

Jaime Jaquez Jr., the third-leading scorer (12.9) and top rebounder (5.6), also went down with an apparent ankle injury midway through the opening half and did not return.

UCLA had no trouble adding to its lead, however.

Kyman sank a jumper to stretch the advantage to 23-8 with 9:52 left in the first half.

An 8-0 run by the Bruins increased the lead to 31-10 before the Cardinal answered with six straight points.

Kyman and David Singleton came back with 3-pointers in the final minute of the half to give UCLA a 37-18 lead at the break.

Stanford shot 5-for-25 in the opening half, including 0-for-9 from 3-point distance, and committed 14 turnovers.

The 18 points allowed by UCLA in the first half was the also the fewest it allowed since giving up 16 against Chaminade on Nov. 26, 2019.

Peyton Watson started the second half in place of Jaquez and missed the first two shots for the Bruins while Stanford scored the first five points to cut the lead to 37-23.

The Bruins came back with six straight points to go back up 43-23 with 14:07 left in the game.

The Cardinal twice got back within 13 points, but another 7-0 run put UCLA back up by 20 with 7:03 left.
