Brandon Angel and Noah Taitz combined for 24 points off the bench Wednesday night, leading Stanford to a second straight nonconference win, 74-60 over visiting Valparaiso.

Twelve of the 15 players who saw the court got into the scoring column for Stanford (3-1).

Trevor Anderson had a game-high 18 points for the Beacons (0-3), who were playing their first road game. Sheldon Edwards scored 11 points.

Stanford wasted no time grabbing command of the contest, getting a Spencer Jones 3-pointer and a Maxime Raynaud dunk during a game-opening, 12-1 burst.

Valparaiso didn't get its first basket until Thomas Kithier dropped in a layup 4:39 into the half.

Stanford went on to lead by as many as 21 points later in the period, and the hosts were up 39-23 at the break before coasting home.

Angel, who had totaled just three points in Stanford's first three games, paced the Cardinal with a career-high 13, making three of his four 3-point shots. His previous high game occurred last year as a freshman when he had nine points at Southern California.

Taitz, who had been scoreless in just five minutes of action to start the season, matched Angel with three 3-pointers en route to 11 points. He missed his career best, set as a freshman last season at Arizona State, by two points.

Led by Angel and Taitz, Stanford's 10 reserves outscored the team's five starters 45-29.

Raynaud finished with nine points and Jones grabbed a team-high five rebounds for Stanford, which out-shot Valparaiso 46.3 percent to 41.2 percent overall and 47.8 percent to 29.6 percent on 3-point attempts. Freshman star Harrison Ingram was held to four points but found time to tie Isa Silva for team-high honors in with five assists.

Anderson's game-high point total was mostly the product of 7-for-11 shooting. The fifth-year senior, a transfer from Wisconsin, completed his first collegiate double-double with a game-high 10 rebounds.
