Aaron Wiggins scored 15 of his 21 points in the second half to lift Maryland to a 64-50 victory over Nebraska on Tuesday in a Big Ten contest in College Park, Md.

Wiggins made 8 of 15 shots from the floor and finished with 11 rebounds for the Terrapins (12-10, 6-9 Big Ten), who overcame 17 turnovers to win their second straight game. Wiggins' 21 points were one shy of his season high, set in Maryland's 63-55 setback at Indiana on Jan. 4.

Jairus Hamilton scored 11 of his 15 points in the first half and Eric Ayala overcame a 2-for-10 performance from 3-point range to finish with 14 points.

Teddy Allen scored 18 points and Dalano Banton added 10 for the Cornhuskers (5-13, 1-10), who were unable to take advantage of 13 steals while falling for the 10th time in 11 games.

Nebraska won't have long to stew on the defeat, however, as the teams will reconvene in College Park on Wednesday. The Cornhuskers and Terrapins initially were slated to play on Jan. 16, however that game was postponed due to COVID-19 issues within Nebraska's program.

Kobe Webster drained a 3-pointer to forge a tie at 44 with 8:12 to play, capping a 16-9 surge by Nebraska. The Terrapins inched out to a 51-47 lead before making six of their next seven shots to highlight their 13-2 run.

Wiggins converted a three-point play to regain the lead for Maryland and muscled home another shot from the interior on his team's ensuing possession. Wiggins added a layup, converted another three-point play and sank a jumper to stake the Terrapins to a 61-49 advantage with 2:41 to play.

Ayala calmly drained a step-back 3-pointer on the ensuing possession to effectively seal the win.

Darryl Morsell sent a half-court heave off the glass and into the basket as time expired to give Maryland a 32-28 lead at halftime. The Terrapins made 7 of 17 attempts from 3-point range in the first half.
