E.J. Liddell, Kyle Young and Duane Washington Jr. each had 16 points as No. 7 Ohio State rallied to defeat No. 8 Iowa 89-85 on Thursday at Iowa City.

Ohio State (15-4, 9-4 Big Ten) has won four straight and seven of eight.

Justice Sueing added 12 points for the Buckeyes, who trailed 61-50 five minutes into the second half but pulled ahead 67-66 on a Young bucket with 10:12 left.

Three 3-pointers by Justin Ahrens and another by Young helped put the Buckeyes ahead 88-81 with 2:39 left.

It was 88-85 when Washington hit one of two free throws with 17 seconds left and Iowa (13-5, 7-4) missed three shots to finish the game.

Jack Nunge and Jordan Bohannon each had 18 points, Joe Wieskamp 17 and Luka Garza 16 for the Hawkeyes.

One streak was sure to be broken at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Ohio State has won four consecutive road games against top-15 opponents after beating Rutgers, Illinois, Wisconsin and now Iowa.

Iowa had won nine straight home games against ranked opponents for the longest streak in program history.

The Hawkeyes held a 45-42 halftime with Garza, Nunge and Bohannon each having 11 points. Sueing led Ohio State with 10 points.

The Hawkeyes had a quick turnaround, defeating visiting Michigan State 84-78 on Tuesday in a rescheduled game due to COVID-19 issues in the Spartans' program. Ohio State last played Sunday, also defeating the Spartans 79-62 at home.

Ohio State jumped on the Hawkeyes and assumed a 10-5 lead with Sueing and Liddell each having five points.

The margin reached 20-12 on a basket by Zed Key, who at that point had six points off the bench, but Bohannon sparked a 10-0 run over 69 seconds with a 3-pointer and the Hawkeyes took their first lead, 22-20, on a triple by Nunge.

Iowa's crammed schedule continues with a game at Indiana on Sunday. Ohio State visits Maryland on Monday.
