Nikola Djogo, who entered the game due to his teammates' foul trouble, scored a game-high 18 points, leading the host Notre Dame Fighting Irish to a 71-61 win over the Miami Hurricanes in an ACC game on Sunday night at South Bend, Ind.

Notre Dame (9-10, 6-7) won for the sixth time in its past eight games.

Miami (7-12, 3-11) got swept by the Irish in their two-game season series this season. Isaiah Wong scored a team-high 17 points for the Hurricanes, who have lost six of their last seven games.

Djogo, a senior who has played 95 career games, fell three points short of his career high. It was just his fifth career double-figure game.

The Irish rarely get in foul trouble, but that was not the case on Sunday. Nate Laszewski, who leads Notre Dame in scoring and rebounding, had more fouls (three) than points (two) in the first half. Foul trouble by Laszewski and Juwan Durham led to Notre Dame inserting Djogo off the bench.

Laszewski finished strong, with 14 points and seven rebounds. Durham scored 12 points, and Dane Goodwin had a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

Notre Dame's Cormac Ryan, who scored 28 points in his last outing, at Duke, was held to three points on 1-for-6 shooting. He turned his left ankle with 13:02 left in the first half but later returned.

Miami also got 14 points from Anthony Walker, 12 from Kameron McGusty and 11 from Elijah Olaniyi.

The first half, which featured eight lead changes, ended with a 31-31 tie. Both teams, at best, had five-point leads.

Miami shot just 32.4 percent from the floor, including 3-for-12 on 3-pointers (25 percent). The Hurricanes, who made just two of their final 19 shots in the half, also struggled on the foul line, making 4-of-11 (36.4 percent).

Notre Dame's shooting wasn't much better, making 35.5 percent from the floor, including 4-for-16 on 3-pointers (25.0 percent). Notre Dame, at least, shot well from the foul line (5-of-6).

Miami, on a 3-pointer by Olaniyi, took a 54-52 lead with 6:44 left in the second half. But Notre Dame closed the game on a 19-7 run.

For the game, Notre Dame shot 44.4 percent, including 7-for-29 on three-pointers (24.1 percent). Miami shot 32.4 percent, including 5-for-22 on three-pointers (22.7 percent). Miami also made just 12-for-21 on free throws.
