Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe and Rondel Walker combined for 42 points as Oklahoma State easily dispatched Iowa State 81-60 Monday night in Ames, Iowa.

Oklahoma State outscored Iowa State 58-22 in the paint.

The Cowboys (10-4, 4-4 Big 12) played without the conference's leading scorer, Cade Cunningham, because of COVID-19 protocols. The freshman has scored 17.8 points per game.

Iowa State (2-8, 0-6) played its first game since Jan. 9 after having four straight games postponed due to COVID-19 protocols. The Cyclones were without their second-, third- and fourth-leading scorers. Jalen Coleman-Lands (12.7 points), Javan Johnson (12.2) and Solomon Young (12.0) all sat out. The Cyclones dressed only six scholarship players.

Oklahoma State was led by Moncrieffe, who scored 22 points and Walker, who had 20. They were joined in double figures by Kalib Boone (15) and Avery Anderson III (11). The Cowboys shot 59.3 percent from the field for the game.

Despite 24 Oklahoma State turnovers, the Cowboys kept the Cyclones at bay by dominating on the boards, outrebounding Iowa State 49-19.

Iowa State could get no closer than eight points in the second half. With the score 63-55 with 7:12 remaining, Oklahoma State used a 14-2 run to seal the game.

Iowa State was led by Rasir Bolton with 19 points. Tyler Harris added 18.

Iowa State jumped out to a quick 13-2 lead, taking advantage of six Oklahoma State turnovers. The Cowboys then responded with an 8-0 run, but Iowa State was able to keep the lead until the 7:36 mark when Oklahoma State's Isaac Likekele drove the lane for a go-ahead layup for a 24-23 advantage.

Oklahoma State finished the half by making 13 of its last 21 field goals and took a 41-31 lead into the break. The Cowboys, who shot 52.9 percent in the opening half, were led by Walker and Moncrieffe with 12 points each. Bolton led the Cyclones with 12.
