After going scoreless in Clemson's win against Presbyterian on Thursday, junior forward Aamir Simms scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Freshman guard Chase Hunter added 10 points as four of Clemson's five starters scored in double figures. The fifth, sophomore guard John Newman III had nine points.

Sophomore guard Tucker Richardson led Colgate with 16 points. Junior guard Jordan Burns and senior forward Will Rayman had 15 points apiece. Rapolas Ivanauskas, a 6-foot-10 senior forward, added 14 points.

Clemson led by as many as 10 points late in the first half before settling for an eight-point advantage at the break, 38-30.

Colgate came out hot in the second half and took a lead at 52-51 on two free throws by Burns with 13:27 remaining. The game was tied at 62 after Ivanauskas converted a three-point play, but it was all Clemson from there.

Simms and Curran Scott sparked a 7-0 run that gave the Tigers the lead for good, and the Raiders made only 1 of their final 12 shots from 3-point range.

It was just the second meeting between Clemson and Colgate; the teams last played in 1979, with Clemson winning 110-73.
