Remy Martin scored 23 of his career-high 33 points in the second half, and junior college transfer Khalid Thomas made a go-ahead 3-pointer with 3.2 seconds remaining as Arizona State overcame a 12-point deficit to beat host Princeton 67-65 on Tuesday.

Thomas had 14 points in his first extending playing time of the season, and he sank two of his three 3-pointers in the final 70 seconds to help Arizona State (4-2) avoid its second upset loss to Princeton in as many seasons.

Richmond Aririguzoh had 16 points, a career-high 18 rebounds and five assists, Drew Friberg had 11 points, and Jaelin Llewellyn had 10 for the Tigers (0-5). Princeton is off to its worst start since the 1984-85 team lost its first six.

Martin scored 13 points in the final 8:22 as the Sun Devils overcame a 56-49 deficit, and his jumper with 3:33 left gave Arizona State a 61-60 lead. Thomas extended the margin to four with his first trey before Friberg hit a 3-pointer and Tosan Evbuomwan made a layup with 20 seconds left for a 65-64 Princeton lead.

After a timeout, Thomas took a feed from Martin for his game-winning corner 3-pointer. Martin, who had four rebounds and three assists, scored 18 of the Sun Devils' 20 points before Thomas' final two threes.

Thomas had played 21 minutes in four games this season and was averaging less than one point per contest.

Romello White had 11 points and nine rebounds for Arizona State, which made seven threes in the second half to avenge a 67-66 home loss to the Tigers last season.

Martin made two 3-pointers and Thomas and Elias Valtonen had one apiece as Arizona State, which trailed by 12 in the first half, went on an 20-7 run for short-lived 46-39 lead.

Friberg had eight points including a pair of threes and Llewellyn had five points including a 3-pointer as Princeton countered with a 17-3 run to go ahead 56-49 with 7:55 left before the Sun Devils rallied again.
