Kaleb Wesson led four Ohio State players in double figures with 17 points, and the No. 10 Buckeyes used a 17-0 run to defeat Kent State 71-52 on Monday in Columbus, Ohio.

The Buckeyes (6-0) got 16 points from Duane Washington Jr., 13 from Luther Muhammad and 11 from D.J. Carton.

Danny Pippen had 19 points with eight rebounds and Antonio Williams 17 for the Golden Flashes (5-1).

Ohio State had a 35-23 lead at the half and extended it to 40-23 within the first three minutes after the break. However, the Golden Flashes would not go away, and a Williams free throw for his 17th point tied the score at 48 with 10:29 to play.

The Buckeyes went eight minutes without a field goal until Carton's reverse layup for a 55-48 lead with 7:14 to go as Pippen went to the bench with his fourth foul.

Kaleb Wesson and Andre Wesson each made free throws and Washington drained a jumper for a 59-48 lead. Kaleb Wesson made two more from the line, and Carton had a slam off a steal to make it 63-48 to put the game away with four minutes remaining.

Kyle Young capped the run with a pair of foul shots.

The game was played at St. John Arena, the Buckeyes' former home from 1956-98 until Value City Arena opened. Ohio State tries to play at least one "throwback" game there per season.

The Golden Flashes showed from the onset that they weren't intimidated by the Buckeyes' record or ranking.

Kent State hit its first three shots for 7-5 lead, and it took Ohio State nearly 10 minutes to get more than a one-point advantage. The Buckeyes clamped down on defense, Kaleb Wesson got involved offensively, and a 10-2 run put the hosts ahead 24-15 with 6:32 left in the half.

Ohio State hosts Morgan State on Friday. The Golden Flashes are home to face Stetson on Saturday.
