Behind 23 points and 10 rebounds from guard John Petty Jr., Alabama (11-7, 4-2 SEC) survived 25 turnovers and cruised to a 77-62 win over Vanderbilt at Nashville's Memorial Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

The Commodores (8-10, 0-5) have now lost 25 straight games to Southeastern Conference opponents. They shot just 30.8 percent from the field.

Guards Kira Lewis Jr. and Jaden Shackelford chipped in 16 and 15 for Alabama, respectively, with the team outrounding Vanderbilt, 51-32.

Guards Saben Lee (19 points) and Scotty Pippen Jr. (10) and forward Dylan Disu (career-high 21) paced Vandy.

The Crimson Tide opened up a 45-35 lead on Lewis' fast-break lay-up with 15:03 to play, then took their biggest lead of the night to that point when guard James Bolden buried a 3 from the left side for a 48-35 edge.

A Lewis free throw, followed by another Bolden transition 3, made it 52-35 at 13:53.

Alabama's 14-0 run ended when Lee hit two free throws at 11:20, ending a 5:23 scoring drought and getting Vandy within 16.

The Crimson Tide took their first 20-point lead (61-41) on Petty's three-point play with 7:38 left.

Despite 15 turnovers, Alabama left the first half with a 37-31 lead thanks to Petty's 17 and a 27-13 edge on the glass.

Alabama grabbed a 24-15 lead as Petty started the game 4-of-4 from 3. His tip-in at 7:00 gave the Crimson Tide their biggest first-half lead at 28-17.

The Commodores, who went 0-for-25 on 3s last time out, started 0-for-9 behind the line before Pippen canned one at 5:34.

Vandy closed within two (32-30) when Disu hit a corner 3 at 2:09.

Alabama forward Javian Davis exited the game with what appeared to be an injury to his right leg with 4:52 to play. A team trainer iced his right knee, but Davis didn't go to the locker room.
