Dane Goodwin scored a career-high 27 points on 10-for-13 shooting, and host Notre Dame cruised to a 110-71 win over Detroit Mercy on Tuesday night in South Bend, Ind.

T.J. Gibbs added 18 points for Notre Dame (7-3), which snapped a two-game losing streak. John Mooney contributed a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Juwan Durham had 16 points.

The Fighting Irish shot 59.4 percent (41 of 69) from the field and 51.3 percent (20 of 39) from 3-point range. Goodwin made 5 of 7 attempts from beyond the arc, and Gibbs shot 6 of 12 from distance.

Antoine Davis scored a team-high 27 points for Detroit (1-8), which dropped to 0-6 on the road this season. Brad Calipari finished with 12 points, and Justin Miller and Willy Isiani had 11 apiece.

Gibbs came out red hot to start the second half, which helped the Fighting Irish increase their advantage to 20. Gibbs made a 3-pointer in the opening minute after the break and hit again from beyond the arc to make it 57-37 with 17:24 remaining. Gibbs added another 3-pointer with 16:32 to go and drained yet another one with 15:11 to go.

By the 10-minute mark, Notre Dame led 83-55 and was well on its way to its sixth double-digit victory of the season.

Notre Dame established a 49-33 lead at the half.

Detroit stayed within reach when a jump shot by Davis cut the deficit to 16-12 with 12:48 to go in the first half. But Notre Dame responded with a 15-5 run to pull ahead 31-17 with 8:20 remaining in the half.

Rex Pflueger buried a 3-pointer to start the scoring binge. Pflueger then assisted on a 3-pointer by Goodwin. Prentiss Hubb also connected from long range during the decisive run.

Pflueger went to the locker room in the second half after his left knee buckled, but he returned to the bench later in the half. The team said he was cleared to return if necessary, but he rested his knee with the game well out of reach.
