Devin Vassell paced No. 17 Florida State with 14 points and nine rebounds as the Seminoles bounced back from a loss by beating visiting Clemson 72-53 in an ACC game on Sunday in Tallahassee, Fla.

Florida State (8-2, 1-1 ACC) trailed 33-27 at halftime but started the second half on a 10-0 run to grab control. The Seminoles extended the run to 25-8 by the midpoint of the half, stretching the lead to 52-41 on a 3-pointer by Trent Forrest.

The Seminoles, who lost 80-64 at Indiana on Tuesday as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, outscored Clemson 45-20 in the second half.

Florida State's Anthony Polite scored 12 points, and fellow guard M.J. Walker added 11 points. Clemson (5-4, 0-2) committed 18 turnovers and lost its third consecutive game.

The Tigers were led in scoring by guards Tevin Mack with 14 points and Al-Amir Dawes with 13 points.

Clemson led by as many as eight points in the first half and took a 33-27 lead into halftime when Aamir Simms hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Dawes scored 11 points in the first half.

FSU's Patrick Williams and Walker began the second half with 3-pointers in consecutive possessions to tie the game. Williams' layup at the 17:35 mark gave the Seminoles a 35-33 lead. Forrest ended the 10-0 run with a jumper.

Forrest finished with nine points and five assists.

Clemson shot just 35.8 percent from the field, including 25.9 percent after halftime.

Florida State remained unbeaten at home this season, improving to 5-0 at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

Florida State has a nine-day break for final exams before next hosting North Florida on Dec. 17. Clemson, meanwhile, will get a week break before returning at home next Sunday to face in-state rival South Carolina.
