Jared Butler scored 17 points and Freddie Gillespie added a career-high 14 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double as visiting Baylor stunned No. 19 Iowa State 73-69 on Tuesday in Big 12 action at Ames, Iowa.

Baylor led 66-63 after a layup by Jared Butler with 3:16 to play, but the Cyclones' Cameron Lard converted a pair of free throws to cut the advantage to one point. Butler then canned a 3-pointer with 2:01 remaining to stretch the lead to two possessions.

Iowa State missed its next four shots and committed a turnover in the next minute and a half, allowing Baylor to extend its lead to 71-65 on a pair of free throws by Makai Mason with 35 seconds to play.

The Cyclones drew within 71-67 on a layup by Marial Shayok, but another pair of free throws by Mason with 11 seconds to go clinched the win and a season sweep for the Bears.

Mason finished with 14 points and Devonte Bandoo added 10 for the Bears (17-9, 8-5), who had lost three of their previous four after a six-game winning streak. Baylor outrebounded the Cyclones 44-28 in the victory.

Shayok poured in 20 points for Iowa State (19-7, 8-5) while Lindell Wigginton hit for 10 points for the Cyclones, who have lost two of their past three games.

Mason, who had missed two of Baylor's previous three games with a toe injury, led all scorers with 10 points in the first half as the Bears owned a 38-34 lead at the break.

Wigginton and Shayok led the Cyclones with seven points each in the first half as Iowa State outshot Baylor 50 percent to 41 percent in the first 20 minutes to stay close.

Iowa State jumped to the lead early in the second half, after which the game see-sawed back and forth with neither team creating more than a four-point margin until the final minute of the game.

Baylor played without starting guard King McClure (knee injury) for the fourth straight game.

Next up for Iowa State is a road contest against TCU on Saturday afternoon. Baylor heads home to host reeling West Virginia on Saturday afternoon.
