Junior guard Barry Brown scored 16 points Wednesday, including 14 of Kansas State's last 16 points, as the Wildcats tripped Texas 58-48 at Manhattan, Kan.

Kansas State (20-8, 9-6 Big 12) used a string of 11 unanswered points that began following a Texas timeout with 5:18 remaining to move back into a share of third place in the Big 12 with West Virginia.

Junior forward Dean Wade added 13 points and freshman guard Cartier Diarra had 12 as the Wildcats overcame 41.7 percent shooting to post a 20-win season for the 10th time in 12 years and fourth time in six seasons with Bruce Weber as coach.

Texas (16-12, 6-9) shot just 18.8 percent in the second half and 28.6 percent for the game while potentially slipping off the bubble for the NCAA Tournament. Junior forward Dylan Osetkowski recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman guard Matt Coleman paced the Longhorns with 14 points.

Texas missed nine of its last 11 shots after grabbing a 44-42 lead off two free throws by Coleman and then taking a timeout at the 5:18 mark.

Kansas State sophomore forward Xavier Sneed led all rebounders with a career-high 13 boards and added nine points as the Wildcats claimed their fourth straight win in the series with the Longhorns.

Neither team clicked offensively in the first half. Kansas State went nine-plus minutes without a field goal while going 0-for-12 during that stretch, but the Wildcats still forged a 25-25 halftime tie.

The Wildcats shot just 28.6 percent before the break as their starters combined to go 6 of 23. Diarra was the game's leading scorer at halftime with eight points.

Texas also had poor stretches after leading by as many as five, though the margin was swapped five times. Osetkowski led the Longhorns in first-half points (seven) and rebounds (four).

Considered a bubble team on some projections, Kansas State now has three sweeps in Big 12 after also being swept by front-runners Kansas, Texas Tech and West Virginia. The Wildcats travel to Oklahoma on Saturday, while the Longhorns return home to face Oklahoma State.
