Arnett Moultrie scored 24 points with 14 rebounds, and No. 17 Mississippi State won its 11th consecutive game, using a 17-2 first-half run to down Northwestern State 82-67 in Jackson, Miss.

The Bulldogs (12-1) extended the program’s longest winning streak since 2003-04, taking control midway through the first half. Moultrie started the run by hitting a jumper with 13:51 left in the half. Wendell Lewis scored four points during the run.

Renardo Sidney finished the surge with 9:52 left in the half, his layup staking the Bulldogs to a 26-9 advantage.

Down 41-27 at halftime, Northwestern State (7-6) pulled with 45-39 on Patrick Robinson’s 3-pointer with 15:55 to go. But the Bulldogs put the game away from that point.

Moultrie finished with 11 offensive rebounds, recording his seventh double-double of the season and fourth in a row. He came into the game leading the SEC in rebounding and ranked seventh in the nation with an average of 11.4.

Lewis added 14 points for the Bulldogs.

Shamir Davis led the Demons with 15 points.

The Bulldogs are off until playing No. 7 Baylor on Wednesday in Dallas. Northwestern State plays at Oklahoma on Dec. 31.
