Jose Alvarado scored 19 of his 24 points in the second half after he was whistled for his fourth foul, and he led Georgia Tech to a 75-64 win over Nebraska in an ACC/Big Ten Challenge game Wednesday at Lincoln, Neb.

Alvarado went to the bench with four fouls with 18:26 left in regulation and the game tied at 34.

He returned with 13:51 left and Nebraska leading 43-39. He missed his next shot but then made four in a row, two of them 3-pointers, to put the Yellow Jackets (2-2) ahead 57-52 with 6:21 remaining.

Another 3-pointer by Alvarado was followed by Moses Wright's shot beyond the arc to give Georgia Tech a 67-56 lead with 3:29 left.

Alvarado made all six of his free-throw attempts in the last 2:09 to help maintain the Yellow Jackets' lead.

Wright made his last four shots and finished with 13 points and eight rebounds for Georgia Tech. Michael Devoe had 12 points and Khalid Moore finished with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Nebraska (3-2) was led by Kobe Webster's 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, including 6-of-7 success from 3-point range. Dalano Blanton finished with 17 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

Georgia Tech led by as many as eight points in the first half before Nebraska cut the deficit to 32-30 at halftime.

The Cornhuskers immediately answered Georgia Tech's 7-0 run that gave the Yellow Jackets a 32-24 lead with Lat Mayen and Webster nailing 3-pointers on consecutive possessions.

Nebraska's leading scorer, Teddy Allen, who entered averaging 19 points a game, had only two points at halftime after missing all six of his field-goal attempts. He finished with 10 points on 4-of-16 shooting from the field, and he missed all five of his attempts from 3-point range.

Wright, who had 21 points Sunday in Georgia Tech's 79-62 win over Kentucky, was also held to two points at the half. He attempted only three shots and made one at that time.
