Stanford 71, Northwestern 58: Josh Huestis collected 18 points and seven rebounds as the Cardinal pulled away in the second half against the visiting Wildcats.

Chasson Randle scored 14 points and Anthony Brown added 12 points and eight rebounds for Stanford (2-1), which led 29-27 at the break before opening the second half with a 19-6 run. Stefan Nastic had 11 points and Grant Verhoeven contributed eight rebounds.

JerShon Cobb led Northwestern (1-1) with 19 points, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range, and Drew Crawford added 15 points and six rebounds. The Wildcats, who missed 13 of their first 15 shots in the second half, trailed 48-33 before Cobb scored eight straight points to cut the deficit to nine with 8:24 remaining.

Huestis scored one minute later to spark a 10-2 run for Stanford, which held Northwestern to 38.9 percent shooting after allowing 112 points in a nine-point loss to BYU on Monday. Randle made five of his 10 shots after scoring a career-high 33 points against BYU.

Tre Demps scored 10 points and Sanjay Lumpkin had seven rebounds for Northwestern, which lost for the sixth time in eight all-time meetings against Stanford. The Wildcats were 6-of-11 from the foul line, while Stanford made 18 of its 26 attempts.
