Iowa 76, Penn State 67: Sophomore forward Aaron White scored a career-high 27 points as the host Hawkeyes kept the Nittany Lions winless in the Big Ten.

Iowa (14-7, 3-5 Big Ten) also received 10 points and 10 rebounds from junior forward Melsahn Basabe.

Penn State (8-13, 0-9) was led by sophomore guard D.J. Newbill, who scored 20, and junior guard Jermaine Marshall with 15.

The Nittany Lions started the game on a 10-5 run, but the Hawkeyes grabbed an 11-10 lead on an Adam Woodbury free throw and Penn State never led again.

Neither team shot better than 40.4 percent from the field as the Nittany Lions fell to 0-5 on the road. Penn State scored 15 points off turnovers, despite forcing 18 of them.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Basabe made his first start of the season and has scored in double figures in four of the last six games. … Iowa made (31) and attempted (39) its most free throws in Big Ten play this season. … The Hawkeyes lead the all-time series 15-3 in Iowa City.
