Manny Arop scored 17 points and the Sycamores notched a huge upset to end the Shockers’ 19-game homecourt win streak.

Devonte Brown and Jake Odum added 10 points apiece to help Indiana State (14-7, 7-3 Missouri Valley) win at Wichita State for the first time since the 2003-04 season. Overall, the Sycamores have won four of their last five games.

Cleanthony Early had 15 points and 11 rebounds and Demetric Williams tallied 14 points for Wichita State (19-3, 8-2), which shot just 27.1 percent from the field.

Indiana State led 48-38 after a basket by Arop with 10:40 to play. The Shockers were within 54-50 after Williams hit two free throws with 5:45 left before the Sycamores answered with a 10-1 run to take a 13-point lead with 1:18 remaining.

Brown scored seven points during an 11-0 run that saw Indiana State take a 33-25 lead late in the first half. A four-point play by RJ Mahurin in the final minute and a layup by Khristian Smith gave the Sycamores a 39-28 lead at the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Indiana State’s victory was its second in its last 10 games against the Shockers. … Wichita State had 19 offensive rebounds among its 34 boards. ... The four-point play was the fourth of Mahurin’s career.
