Wyoming 58, No. 14 San Diego State 45: Leonard Washington recorded 14 points and 14 rebounds as the host Cowboys held the Aztecs to nine first-half points and claimed their second Mountain West win.

Larry Nance Jr. added 11 points and 12 rebounds for Wyoming (15-2, 2-2), while Derrious Gilmore scored 13 and Josh Adams had 12. The Cowboys held San Diego State (14-4, 2-2) to 28.8 percent from the field and 11.8 percent (2-for-17) from beyond the arc.

Aztecs leading scorer Jamaal Franklin (18.2 points) was limited to 13 points on 3-of-14 shooting. Winston Shepard tallied 10 points and six rebounds.

Wyoming limited San Diego State to 16.7 percent shooting in the first half as the Aztecs missed all eight of their 3-point attempts and committed eight turnovers in the period en route to a 20-9 deficit at intermission.

San Diego State pulled as close as seven when a Chase Tapley 3-pointer made it 42-35 with 4:02 left. Three Gilmore free throws and a Nance 3-pointer pushed the cushion to 48-37, and San Diego State did not threaten down the stretch.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wyoming improved to 3-2 since suspending leading scorer Luke Martinez for his role in a bar fight on Dec. 30. Martinez broke his right hand, was arrested for aggravated assault and suspended indefinitely. ... San Diego State has not won a game this season in which it has trailed by more than seven points. ... The Cowboys entered the game first in the Mountain West and seventh nationally in scoring defense at 54.4 points.
